MP3 Cutter for Windows 10 is freeware that lets you quickly and easily splice MP3 files.
There are many reasons that users want to cut—or splice—audio files. Many smartphones only support ringtones of a particular length. You may want clip a particular section out of a podcast, or you may have a song with leading and/or trailing white noise and want to trim it.
MP3 Cutter for Windows 10 is a program that lets you do exactly that. It is a very focused program that does one thing and does well without cluttering itself with options and features you do not need. The program supports Windows 10—as the name suggests—but also supports all versions as far back as Windows 7. In addition, the software is freeware, which means that it costs you nothing to download, install and use as much and as often as you like.
This is a very proficient MP3 cutter. It is also quite efficient. It does not require much space on disk and does not demand much memory or other resources while active. You can use it for a long period without worrying about resource consumption because it frees them with each finished audio file.
To splice or trim an audio file simply open it via the open it or drag and drop. The graph at the top of the screen represents the audio file visually. You will see timestamps as well as a visual indication of when noise is occurring. The timestamps let you set a precise start and end, but the graph is also quite handy since it gives you confidence that you are not actually trimming away sound.
MP3 Cutter for Windows 10 offers a preview option so that you can listen before committing to your changes. There is a volume adjuster as well, which effects no the file but just your current listening experience. The program will also indicate the bitrate, metadata, creation date and so forth but does not let you alter any of this information directly.
Note that this program can work on WMA and WMV files as well as MP3 files. One gripe that we have is that you cannot output to WMA or WMV. So, if you cut a WMA file, the output will be MP3. Something else to be aware of is that there is no language support beyond English. Fortunately, most of the buttons are image-based, and those images should be universal.
